Rt. 6/Rt. 202 Culvert Replacement Update From NY State DOT
Release Date: October 20, 2023

U.S. Route 6/State Route 202 (the Goat Trail) remains one lane in each direction with an alternating traffic signal at Roa Hook Road to facilitate the replacement of a culvert. This project requires the replacement of the existing culvert with a bridge structure. The New York State Department of Transportation contractor has mobilized on site to begin the work to install a temporary one lane bridge in the eastbound lane to allow the contractor to work in stages. A location has been designated for equipment on site, and the removal of guide rail and asphalt has begun. Night time closures are expected for the installation of the bridge and message boards will advise motorists in advance of the closures. This project has an anticipated substantial completion Summer 2024, weather permitting. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
