  1. The renaming would be a great disrespect to the Gouveia family. We do not need a reminder that Trustee Gallelli was the broker who was instrumental in removing a property from the tax roles and ultimately saddling the village taxpayers with this mess. The Rec. Dept. has been and is fine where it is, undeniably. We don’t need to now pay the costs associated with moving the department and funding that building forever. Remember it was to be a self-sustaining property that would not have an Impact upon the taxpayers when it was “gifted”. Village leadership is in real need of members who challenge decision making. It need not be Dems v. Rep. It can be common sense v. what we’ve had for far too long..

  2. I guess "building consensus" wasn't an issue for this the way it was for honoring Schmidt.

  3. The money pit will continue with no real value add. Now another service will move away from the village center and force residents to travel further away from the village. The building should have been razed long ago since it's security and maintenance get charged back to the village and not the endowment. (I've been told) Never forget the great Gouveia gift of the bank to Ossining either...how's that working out? A sad waste of taxpayer dollars.

  4. This is just another reminder of our local disjointed village leadership.

  5. Sickening. Pretty soon everything in Croton will be renamed. Let’s just rename the village “Dem City” and call it a day.

  6. What happened to all the great ideas proposed by former Village Trustee Sherry Horowitz?? We have a real opportunity to do something with this property that will add-value to our village and deliver value to our residents.
