Notice of Reopening of Nominations for BOE Trustee from Croton-Harmon Schools

This email is being shared by the Village as it represents an issue of potentially broad interest to the community.

On May 8, 2024, at 10:38 a.m., the District Clerk of the Croton-Harmon School District received notification that one of the candidates in the election as Trustee, Jeneen Garcia, has withdrawn her candidacy for the Croton-Harmon Board of Education. There are two candidates remaining on the ballot--Omar Mayyasi and Ana Teague.

In accordance with Education Law Section 2018(a) and Board Policy 2120.1, the Board of Education has reopened nominations for Trustee. A petition for nomination for Trustee, signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district, may be filed with the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Petition packets can be obtained on the district's website, at https://www.chufsd.org/departments/business-office/budget-info/school-board-election-budget-vote-information or from the District Clerk at the District Office, 10 Gerstein Street, Croton-on-Hudson, during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
