Approximately 40 Croton Senor Club members kicked off the Memorial Day weekend with a talk by American Legion Post 505, Commander, Bill Tuttle. Club president Bob Anderson, read the poem Flanders Fields and a poem about the unknown soldier and discussed the wearing of the poppy and that Memorial Day is a day of remembrance and honor for the fallen. He also mentioned that the moment of silence occurs on Memorial Day at 3 pm, when we should stop what we're doing for a minute and reflect on those who have sacrificed for what we have.
