LIONS CLUB LETTER TO THE EDITOR AND 2024 SUMMERFEST 50/50 RAFFLE WINNER/PHOTO

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship---in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Lions Club Letter to the Editor---and 2024 Summerfest 50/50 Raffle Winner/Photo too! (Click on the photo below.)

The Croton Lions Club participated in Croton’s Summerfest with a booth to showcase what the Lions do and who they are. Many people came and inquired about what the Lions do, with some showing interest in joining the Lions.  If you are interested in volunteering, being involved and having fun - you can do this as a Lions member. The work we do helps improve the community. We are service-minded people that serve the community without personal financial gain.

The Lions did a 50/50 raffle to raise money for charitable projects and student scholarships. The raffle went very well with many people coming to  our booth to support the Lions. A local person won the raffle and was ecstatic that he won and contributed to our fundraiser.

The event was well attended by fellow members, and they all seemed to have a good time. The Club hopes to have many more events to promote the work we do.

The Croton Lions are part of the largest worldwide service organization with more than 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries, in more than 48,000 clubs.

  1. I see Mr. Gagliotti was this years Grand Marshall. Great choice. Retired village employee and a Fire Dept leader.
How about the man in this picture? Coach Daubney is an institution in Croton. Aside from being an educator/coach, he is still volunteering for several entities at almost 90 years old. Military, Lions, Christmas trees, aiding the disabled, Summerfest, Asbury Church, Trails, former Village Trustee and until a year or so ago (idk, he may still be involved) a CYO coach. He volunteered as a CYO coach at the request of his former students - to coach their children. Totally committed to family, church and community. This is what I recall, he may do more. A true role model as a man and a shining example of selfless volunteerism. I’d have no idea who nominates or chooses Summerfest GM’s, but someone should propose “Coach”, we are lucky to have him.

    1. Who even picks the Grand Marshall? If Mayor Greg is reading this or if someone knows how to nominate, please post.
Saw coach at Steve Aguado’s memorial, he’s in better shape than many former students and to see he’s still involved is remarkable.

  2. What would we do without our service organizations? Volunteerism at its finest!
