Federal Judge Cathy Seibel, a George W. Bush appointee, assigned to parents’ case against Croton-Harmon school district.

While generally conservative, Seibel could be a wild card as the case proceeds.

A conservative education advocacy group and three Croton-Harmon parents suing our local school district have drawn George W. Bush appointee Cathy Seibel as the judge in their case. The lawsuit, which was filed on June 12, asks the court to strike down the district’s anti-harassment, anti-racist, anti-bullying, and pro-DEI policies as violations of the U.S. Constitution’s guarantees of free speech and equal protection.
