How safe are Croton's restaurants and other food establishments?
Answer: Better than those in many other Westchester County communities, but there's still room for improvement. We look at the most recent inspections.

Let’s start with the good news. Compared with many other communities in Westchester County, Croton-on-Hudson’s food establishments have scored very few so-called “critical violations” during health inspections over the past few years. That happens when county food inspectors deem that immediate action needs to be taken if a food outlet wants to keep operating and avoid exposing customers to food-borne illnesses. That claim cannot be made by towns like New Rochelle, Thornwood, Yonkers, and Mount Kisco, among others, where some restaurants have scored multiple critical violations.
