SIGNS...SIGNS...EVERYWHERE A SIGN......EVEN MORE SIGNAGE IN THE MAPLE/KATZ HOUSING PROJECT AREA

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Residents have noted the following:

IN ADDITION TO THE NO LEFT TURN SIGNS AT THE MAPLE HOUSING PROJECT AREA/CVS MALL , (click on the photo), there is now the following as of this date (so much for no significant traffic impact study):

---PARK ACCESS ONLY signage at the corner "pocket park"

--4 school crossing signs

--An additional sign warning ‘school crossing ahead’

--3 ‘no parking anytime’ signs in front yards on Van Cortlandt St.

--The more easternmost crossing is a new striping.

  1. Haven't shopped in that area in years and not likely to be back any time soon. That lot was a mess when there was no low income across the street. It's only going to get worse.

  2. I would have rather had a McDonald's or what the Katz guy was proposing, a Wahlgreen's. At least that would be paying its fair share of taxes. $70K a year is a joke. On the rest of us.

  3. Bye bye small town.

  4. And we don't even get all of that 70K. It's shared with the county, the town, the school. Not that it will even begin to cover the students. But then they know this.

  5. I call Croton SIGN CITY USA-Drive around and start counting all the types of Village installed signs- go to any other town and compare the visual difference ! Who has the sign making contract or are they made by DPW ? Some of the most compelling "Don't Do This--" signage is on the island berms along Benedict Blvd-ordering to all who pass-"NO LEAF PILES TO BE PLACED ON ISLAND" !!!
