IN THE NEWS--CLIMATE ACTIVISTS ARRESTED FOR DUMPING RED POWDER ON U.S. CONSTITUTION DISPLAY AT NATIONAL ARCHIVES

Two climate activists were arrested Wednesday after dumping red powder on the display encasing the Constitution at the National Archives in Washington.  The building was evacuated and closed to the public several hours early. Officials said the Constitution was not damaged, and the National Archives will reopen Thursday. The incident marked the latest demonstration in the nation’s capital featuring civil disobedience from environmentalists who want President Biden to declare a national climate emergency.
