The blaze began in Peekskill on Friday, March 22 just before 2:30 p.m., when a fire alarm was set off at the Crossroads Apartments at 1109 Brown St., according to the City of Peekskill Fire Department....Because the fire was up on the fifth floor, the department said it was a "labor-intensive" blaze. "High-rise fires are inherently more dynamic incidents, as they require many more tasks to be completed simultaneously than a typical private dwelling fire," the department said. Thank you for posting this. It is important people hear directly from Peekskill's professional firefighters that a 5-6 story apartment building fire is more dynamic and requires many more tasks to be completed at the same time compared to a private dwelling fire.

ReplyDeletewhich were required to be constructed of Masonry and steel. The structure proposed at parking lot 3-A will be first floor concrete block and poured concrete. All other stories will be wood frame.
