LOHUD, LATE SUIT IN LAWLER-JONES RACE SEEKS TO REMOVE "SUBVERSIVE" THIRD CANDIDATE FROM BALLOTS

Welcome to The New Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton-on-Hudson: our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Late suit in Lawler-Jones race seeks to remove 'subversive' third candidate from ballots--A last-minute lawsuit in the race between Rep. Mike Lawler and former Rep. Mondaire Jones is seeking to purge a third-party candidate whose only role appears to be to sap votes from Jones.  The case demands that election officials remove from remaining ballots the name of Congers resident Anthony Frascone, a Working Families Party candidate who has run no actual campaign for the office. The suit, filed in state Supreme Court in Westchester County on Tuesday, comes at a very late stage: New York started sending mail-in ballots to voters two weeks ago, on Sept. 20.
